"Out of the Rock!?!" Spring 2002 South Sandia Peak tops out at 9000 feet above sea level and that is where this little flower is making mincemeat of this rock on the crest. If you go to the east end of Montgonmery Blvd in Albuquerque and start walking up Embudo trail, you will eventually find this wildflower and a bunch of others doing the same thing ... turning stone into soil for the rest of us ... out of the rock.
